Why a Revit 3D view is a strong AI base image
A Revit 3D view already carries what an AI rendering model needs to respect: a fixed camera, true proportions, openings placed by the model and level heights that match the drawings. The Shaded and Consistent Colors visual styles show massing without textures that could conflict with the finish you want to test.

Windows, doors and floor lines come from the model, so the base is dimensionally honest.
Context
Topography, neighbours and site elements included in the view stay in the picture; hidden categories stay out.
From Revit view to review

Revit: File tab > Export > Images and Animations > Image. Set Export Range to Current window, choose Fit To with a pixel width under Image Size, and PNG as the format for shaded views. These steps follow Autodesk's export documentation; dialog options vary by Revit version.
- Turn off the section box, crop region boundary, levels, grids and annotation categories before exporting.
- Keep the view's sun and shadow settings if the shadows help read the massing; hide them if they hide edges.
- Export wider than you need, then reopen the file and check that the silhouette, openings and stair runs are complete.
- Save the 3D view under a name so the same camera can be exported again for the next option.
What Rendero does with the exported view
Rendero runs in the browser. Upload the Revit export as the base image, write one short instruction, and optionally add reference images or a segmentation selection that limits the change to one region such as a facade, roof or glazing. A focused material instruction
Create an exterior material study from this view. Use pale brick on the opaque facade surfaces, dark window frames, clear glazing and late-afternoon daylight. Retain the camera, roof edges, window openings, terraces and stairs. Keep the surrounding context as shown.

Plugins, real-time renderers and image upload
Several AI tools install inside Revit; Rendero does not. Rendero takes the exported image, so it needs no add-in, no dedicated GPU and no change to the project file. Revit LT can export views to image files as well, so the same workflow applies there. Real-time and offline renderers such as Enscape, Twinmotion and V-Ray still own physically based lighting, walkthroughs and production output from the model; use AI rendering for early options and reviews and keep the renderer for deliverables. Does Rendero have a Revit plugin?

Which Revit visual style works best as an AI base image?
Shaded or Consistent Colors show massing and openings without textures that could conflict with the finish you are testing. Realistic adds material textures that the instruction then has to override. Hidden Line gives a drawing-like base that behaves more like a sketch input.
What image size should I export from Revit?
Under Image Size choose Fit To with a generous pixel width so edges and window divisions stay legible, and use PNG as the format for shaded views. Reopen the export and check it before uploading. Check the current upload limits inside the Rendero app.
Will the AI output keep my Revit geometry accurate?
No prompt or base image guarantees exact preservation. Compare the output with the exported view, especially roof edges, window divisions, stair runs and level heights. The Revit model and drawings remain the authority for dimensions and construction details.
Can I use this workflow with Revit LT?
Revit LT can export views to image files, so the same export-and-upload workflow applies. Check the export dialog in your version for the available options.
Does AI rendering replace Enscape, Twinmotion or V-Ray for Revit?
No. Real-time and offline renderers produce physically based lighting, animations and production output from the model. AI rendering suits early options, material studies and client conversations, and works alongside those tools.
